Channel Management

Channels are the heart of your Flexilocus profile. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about adding, managing, verifying, and optimizing your content channels to attract brand collaborations.

Understanding Channels

What Are Channels?

Channels are your content platforms where you create and publish content for your audience. In Flexilocus, a channel represents each individual social media account, content platform, or distribution method you use.

Supported Channel Types:

  • YouTube: Video content platform
  • Instagram: Photos, Reels, Stories, and IGTV
  • TikTok: Short-form video content
  • X (formerly Twitter): Microblogging and social networking
  • LinkedIn: Professional networking and content
  • Newsletter: Email newsletter subscribers
  • Podcast: Audio content distribution

Why Channels Are Important for Collaborations

Channels are essential because:

  1. Discovery: Brands search for creators based on specific platforms
  2. Verification: Channels prove you own and operate these accounts
  3. Statistics: Channel data helps brands evaluate fit and potential ROI
  4. Pricing: Different channels and audience sizes command different rates
  5. Proposals: Brands create proposals for specific channels
  6. Deliverables: Collaborations are executed through your channels
  7. Performance: Results are measured at the channel level

Verified vs Unverified Channels

Unverified Channels:

  • Just added to your profile
  • Pending admin review
  • May have limited visibility
  • Cannot be used for active collaborations yet

Verified Channels:

  • ✅ Approved by Flexilocus admin team
  • Visible to brands in discovery
  • Can be used for collaborations
  • Shows professionalism and legitimacy
  • Higher trust from brands

Platform-Specific vs Multi-Platform Approach

Single Platform Focus:

  • Specialize in one platform (e.g., YouTube only)
  • Deep expertise in that platform's algorithm and best practices
  • Easier to manage and maintain
  • May limit collaboration opportunities

Multi-Platform Strategy:

  • Present on multiple platforms
  • Diversified audience and revenue streams
  • More collaboration opportunities
  • Can offer cross-platform packages to brands
  • Requires more time and resource management

Best Practice: Start with your strongest platform, then gradually add others as you grow.

Channel Verification Process

Why Channel Verification Is Required

Verification ensures:

  • You actually own and control the channel
  • Channel statistics are accurate
  • No fraudulent or fake accounts
  • Brands can trust the creator they're working with
  • Platform integrity and quality standards

What Admin Verification Means

Admin verification is a manual review process where the Flexilocus team:

  1. Checks that the channel exists and is active
  2. Verifies you own the channel (by checking if information matches)
  3. Reviews content for quality and appropriateness
  4. Confirms statistics are reasonably accurate
  5. Ensures the channel meets platform guidelines

Verification Statuses

Pending:

  • ⏳ Your channel has been submitted
  • Awaiting admin review
  • Usually processed within 24-48 hours
  • You'll receive a notification when reviewed

Verified:

  • ✅ Your channel has been approved
  • Visible to brands in discovery
  • Can be used for collaboration proposals
  • Shows a verification badge

Rejected:

  • ❌ Your channel did not pass verification
  • You'll receive a reason for rejection
  • You can resubmit after addressing issues
  • Common reasons include: ownership issues, inaccurate information, inappropriate content, inactive account

What Happens After Submitting a Channel for Verification

  1. Submission Confirmation: You'll see a message confirming your channel was submitted
  2. Review Queue: Your channel enters the admin review queue
  3. Admin Review: Team reviews your channel (typically 1-2 business days)
  4. Decision: Channel is either verified or rejected
  5. Notification: You receive an email and in-app notification of the decision
  6. Status Update: Channel status updates on your channels page

How to Handle Rejection and Resubmit

If your channel is rejected:

Step 1: Check the Rejection Reason

  • Log in to your channels page
  • Find the rejected channel
  • Read the "Rejection Note" or "Admin Feedback"

Common Rejection Reasons:

  • Ownership can't be verified: Make sure your Flexilocus profile name matches your channel name or is clearly connected
  • Incorrect information: URL was wrong, follower count significantly inflated, or handle doesn't match
  • Inactive account: Channel hasn't posted in a long time
  • Inappropriate content: Content violates platform policies
  • Duplicate submission: Channel already exists in system under another account

Step 2: Address the Issues

  • Fix any incorrect information
  • Update your channel to meet requirements
  • Gather proof of ownership if needed (screenshot, bio mention, etc.)

Step 3: Resubmit

  • Edit the channel information
  • Correct any errors
  • Add any notes for the admin team
  • Resubmit for verification

Step 4: Contact Support if Needed

  • If rejection seems incorrect, reach out to support
  • Provide proof of ownership
  • Explain your situation
  • Support can expedite review or provide guidance

Verification Notes and Feedback

When your channel is verified or rejected, you may receive notes:

Verification Notes (if approved):

  • Suggestions for improving your storefront
  • Next steps to attract brands

How Brands Use This Information

  2. Your channel is now tagged with these categories

Multiple Category Selection

You can select multiple categories if:

Example: A fitness creator who also posts healthy recipes might select:

  • Fitness & Health
  • Food & Cooking
  • Lifestyle

Best Practice:

  • Select 2-5 categories max
  • Focus on your core content areas
  • Don't dilute your niche by selecting too many

How Categories Help Brands Find You

Brand Search Process:

  1. Brand filters for creators in "Fitness & Health" category
  2. Your channel appears because you selected this category
  3. Brand reviews your profile and reaches out

Multiple Category Advantage:

  • Appear in more brand searches
  • Attract diverse collaboration opportunities
  • Showcase your versatility

Category Specificity:

  • Some brands search broadly ("Lifestyle")
  • Others search very specifically ("Vegan Cooking")
  • Being in the right category is critical for discovery

Channel-Specific Interests and Niches

Beyond broad categories, you can specify niche interests:

Examples:

  • Fitness: Yoga, Weightlifting, CrossFit, Running, Cycling
  • Beauty: Skincare, Makeup Tutorials, Hair Care, Nail Art
  • Gaming: FPS Games, RPGs, Indie Games, Mobile Gaming
  • Food: Vegan Cooking, Baking, Meal Prep, Restaurant Reviews

How to Add Niches:

  1. In channel settings, find "Interests" or "Niche Tags"
  2. Add specific tags or keywords
  3. These may be free-form text or predefined options
  4. Be specific and accurate

Benefits:

  • Hyper-targeted brand discovery
  • Attract brands looking for specific niches
  • Differentiate yourself from generic category matches

Managing Multiple Channels

Adding Multiple Channels on the Same Platform

Yes, you can add multiple channels from the same platform:

Examples:

  • Multiple YouTube channels (e.g., main channel + vlog channel)
  • Multiple Instagram accounts (e.g., main account + niche account)
  • Multiple TikTok accounts

When to Add Multiple:

  • You manage separate channels for different content types
  • You have a personal brand and a themed page
  • You've rebranded and maintain both old and new channels

How to Add:

  1. Simply repeat the "Add Channel" process
  2. Select the same platform type
  3. Enter the different channel information
  4. Each channel will be verified separately

Setting a Primary Channel Per Platform

If you have multiple channels on one platform:

Primary Channel:

  • The channel you want featured most prominently
  • Shows first in brand discovery
  • Represents your main presence on that platform

How to Set Primary:

  1. Go to Manage Channels
  2. Find the channel you want as primary
  3. Look for "Set as Primary" toggle or button
  4. Enable it
  5. Other channels on that platform become secondary

What It Affects:

  • Order of channels on your storefront
  • Prominence in brand searches
  • Default channel for proposals (brands can still select others)

Managing Active/Inactive Channels

Active Channels:

  • Currently used for content creation
  • Visible to brands
  • Available for collaborations

Inactive Channels:

  • Channels you no longer actively use
  • Can be hidden from brands
  • Preserved in your profile for future reactivation

How to Deactivate a Channel:

  1. Go to Manage Channels
  2. Select the channel
  3. Click "Edit"
  4. Toggle "Active Status" to "Inactive" or "Hidden"
  5. Save changes

Why Deactivate:

  • Taking a break from that platform
  • Rebranding or transitioning content
  • Platform no longer aligns with your strategy
  • Want to focus on other channels

Reactivating:

  • Simply toggle back to "Active"
  • Channel becomes visible again

Deleting Channels (Soft Delete)

Soft Delete means:

  • Channel is removed from your profile
  • Data is retained in the system
  • You can potentially restore it later
  • Different from permanently deleting

How to Delete:

  1. Navigate to Manage Channels
  2. Select the channel to remove
  3. Click "Delete" or "Remove Channel"
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Channel is removed from your profile

When to Delete:

  • You no longer own/control that channel
  • Channel was closed or banned
  • Duplicate entry
  • Channel doesn't meet platform requirements

Important Notes:

  • Delete channels you no longer control
  • Don't delete channels with active collaborations
  • Deleting a channel may affect ongoing proposals

Switching Between Channels in Collaborations

When a brand reaches out:

Single-Channel Collaborations:

  • Brand proposes work on one specific channel
  • You accept or negotiate for that channel

Multi-Channel Collaborations:

  • Brand wants to work across multiple of your channels
  • Proposal includes packages for different channels
  • You can accept some and decline others

Proposing Alternative Channels: If a brand reaches out for Channel A, but Channel B is a better fit:

  1. Respond in the collaboration chat
  2. Suggest your alternative channel
  3. Explain why it's a better fit
  4. Provide statistics for the alternative
  5. Brand can modify their proposal

Channel Selection in Proposals:

  • Brands select specific channels when creating proposals
  • You can counter with different channels
  • Both parties must agree on final channel selection

Channel Management Best Practices

  • Professional avatars and banners
  • Clear, compelling channel descriptions
  • Accurate, honest statistics

Regular Maintenance
